We are pleased to announce that the second International Conference on Men’s Issues – ICMI16 – will be held over 8-10 July, 2016, at ExCeL London, the capital’s largest and most prestigious conference and events venue. It’s located in the revitalised Docklands area of East London, and has outstanding facilities for speakers and delegates.
We’ve set up a dedicated website for the conference, here.
Our conference room can accommodate up to 200 people. It has floor-to-ceiling glass panels on the side which overlooks the Royal Victoria Dock, and air conditioning is available, if required. We’re sure ICMI16 will be an excellent event which will place men’s issues high on the international agenda.
Speakers and/or delegates will be coming from at least 14 countries:
- Australia
- Canada
- France
- Germany
- India
- Ireland
- Italy
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Romania
- Spain
- Sweden
- United Kingdom
- United States
While J4MB is solely responsible for the financial aspects of the conference, it is being run in association with A Voice for Men, and we look forward to welcoming some of their key people, a number of whom are well known to people familiar with their website. All of the 20 speakers – and the Master of Ceremonies – are well-known advocates for men’s human rights, and every one of them accepted our invitation without hesitation. Their names, and the provisional titles of their talks, can be found by clicking on the ‘Speakers’ tab at the top of the new website. The conference will be a rare opportunity for you to listen to, and meet, many of the figures you may until now have only seen online.
People who’ve pre-registered for the conference have until 12:00 GMT, 7 February, to order their tickets, after which they’ll be made available to the general public.
We anticipate that fewer than 50 tickets will remain available to order when they go on sale to the general public. We don’t expect tickets to remain available for long, so we strongly urge you to order your ticket as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment. Please click on the tabs at the top of the website to check out ticket booking, accommodation, travel directions, and more.
We are really looking forward to meeting you all at the conference, seeing old friends from across the world, and making new ones.
There is accommodation available near the venue from as little as £20 per night, and a large range of hotels. Click on the website tab for a guide to accommodation.
Why not combine the event with a longer trip to London? Maybe a long weekend if you’re travelling locally, or a wonderful holiday in the UK – or possibly beyond – if you’re travelling from further afield. Click on the website tab for a visitor’s guide to London.
July is the best month of the year for warm, dry weather in the UK, and you can be sure of a warm welcome at the conference. We look forward to meeting you and, together, taking the next decisive step forward for the human rights of men and boys (and the women who love them).
