Cheerios: only girls are exposed to unhealthy messages about their bodies (ad)

In a no doubt well-intentioned attempt to draw attention to the degree of harmful messages young people are exposed to about diet, health, standards of attractiveness and unrealistic expectations, Cheerios has created an ad that features only young girls. Young boys, who are flooded with images of men with perfect abs and, hairless torsos and rippling biceps are apparently either unaffected by these messages, or not considered an important target demographic for General Mills.
