Dr. Lissette Molina of Miami, FL botched circumcision, “Known Genital Mutilator”

Dr. Lissette Molina has been placed on the “Known Genital Mutilators” directory at neonatalcutting.org.

From the “Women’s Health of South Miami” website we learn about Dr. Lissette Molina:

“Lissette Molina, M.D.

Dr. Molina received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and then received her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southwestern University. She then continued her education at Ross University School of Medicine where she received her Medical Doctor degree. She then completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Since completing residency, she has been in private practice and on South Miami Hospital’s medical staff since 2008. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.”

There is however, more to this doctor’s story. Four years ago Dr. Molina was sued for botching a circumcision that resulted in unsightly permanent disfigurement that even further surgery could not correct. Read the story here.

Dr. Molina’s website doesn’t mention if she does circumcisions anymore, although I’m sure the practice she’s with continues to circumcise infants. I wouldn’t be surprised if she gave it up, and I would applaud her if she did, but since we don’t know we can’t say one way or the other. But we do know that she performed at least one circumcision and that’s why she’s a “Known Genital Mutilator.”

See the legal documents in the case here.

Under “Obstetrics” we see every nuance of care for the unborn baby and mother, from concerns about the immune system and consuming seafood, to the harm of smoking and drinking alcohol. Part of good nutrition includes proper vitamin intake which is very important to the mother’s and baby’s health.

After all this concern for the baby’s physical and emotional well-being, it seems ridiculous that we would then take only male infants and traumatically sever part of his penis for no reason and without his consent – like an animal being ‘fixed.’ Yet this is what happens thousands of times a day, mostly hidden from the sight of loving but uninformed and misled parents and family.

Read the latest statement from the American Academy of Pediatrics where they warn against procedures like circumcision for infants.

Since there is no risk or complication information about circumcision, you can read that here at neonatalcutting.org.
