Recently, India’s Finance Minister spoke about the loss of a couple billion dollars in tourist revenue due to the relentless propaganda in the media about rapes in India. The media certainly played an anarchic role here, forgetting that millions of poor people in India rely on the tourist industry to survive.
Last month, India put a space probe in orbit around Mars. The $74 million cost of this mission was less than the budget of the Hollywood movie Gravity. However, this did not stop many Western socialists, liberals, and people in social media from blaming India for wasting the money on a Mars mission instead of alleviating poverty and reducing the number of incidents of rapes in India. Of course, they all could not forget the incident of the gang rape and hanging of two teenaged girls in a north Indian village.
So the arms industry sells weapons, submarines, and fighter planes globally while using the United Nations to sustain various conflicts in poorer parts of the world, and liberals never question it. Meanwhile, India’s Mars orbiter cost less than a Sukhoi fighter plane.
Liberals seem to believe that people in poverty-stricken countries must live lives full of guilt and should never feel proud of themselves, aim high, or spend money for research or to fund athletes to participate in the Olympics until the problem of their poverty is completely solved.
Before I go into the details of incidents of rape in India, here are few facts I would like to highlight:
- According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the teenaged girls found hanging in the tree were never raped. (CBI is India’s equivalent to the US’s FBI.)
- The number of incidents of rape in the whole of India is about 34,000 in a year for a country of 1.25 billion people, which means that India has one of the lowest rates of rape in the world.
- Indian government officials, police, judges, and even feminists in women’s commissions openly speak about the large number of false rape cases registered in India to settle political scores or by gangs of criminals employing women to file false rape cases.
According to the Delhi Commission for Women, 53% of rape cases filed between April and July 2013 were false. The men accused of rape are thrown in prison as soon as the case is filed. They spend almost a year in prison before getting bail.
A disturbing trend of filing of false rape cases has come to the fore, mocking stringent laws adopted by the parliament last year to prevent crime against women. The Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) has come out with startling statistics showing that 53.2% of the rape cases filed between April 2013 and July 2014 in the capital were found ‘false’.
The report says that between April 2013 and July 2014, of the 2,753 complaints of rape, only 1,287 cases were found to be true, and the remaining 1,464 cases were found to be false.
In all, in 2013 there were a total of 1,559 cases of rape in Delhi, where the acquittal rate was 78%. This was a 32% jump from the earlier 46% of acquittal in 2012, when there were a total of 680 cases filed.
India’s National Crime Records Bureau of Home Ministry reports that the number of incidents of rape in the year 2013 is 33,764.
The truth about the case of the gang rape and hanging of two teenaged girls in India
Examining the clothes of the girls, anyone could have speculated that they were never subjected to gang rape. They were most probably killed due to a family feud or honor killing, and sexual assault never happened. India’s CBI conducted several polygraph tests on the accused and also the parents of the girls as part of the investigation. The accused were found to be innocent and it was established that the parents had framed them.
It is now suspected that this may be a case of an “honor killing”:
In a new twist in the Badaun killings case, the Hyderabad-based Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) has ruled out sexual assault on the teenage girls whose bodies were found hanging from a tree in May.
CBI sources said it is crucial information from one of the most reputed government labs which has cleared a lot of doubts about the theory of the cousins being sexually assaulted before being killed and the needle of suspicion is now on the family members.
The sources said they are not ruling out honour killing angle.
Warning to the Western media
It is a fact that the Western media has been indulging in massive anti-Indian propaganda, degrading its people and terming various Indian cities as rape capitals.
India is a country with sharp contrasts. You can see people driving in Audis or Mercedes in the streets of Bangalore while the street dogs and cows also sometimes occupy the same roads. The cities are highly crowded; however, as soon as you go just 30 miles outside any city, the countryside is extremely beautiful and peaceful. Similarly, most places are extremely safe places in India, but there are also some extremely dangerous areas in the country.
While Indian men are portrayed in Western media as chauvinist monsters, on October 10 an Indian man, Kailash Satyarthi, received the Nobel Peace Prize.
It would be wise for the Western media to accept India’s diversity and contrasts in society rather than constantly degrade the people of India. Frankly, not just Indian Men’s Human Rights Activists (MHRAs) but also many other Indians are really pissed off with this attitude of the West. It is just a matter of time until all hell breaks loose and the Western media will be held responsible.
A few years ago, when U.S. Ambassador to India Tim Roemer was pointing out crimes against women in India, Indian MHRAs responded by essentially telling him to get lost, citing the CDC report that 32 million teenaged girls in the US have STDs. Needless to say, the ambassador had to eat his words. If all hell breaks loose, Indians will respond by raising topics to degrade Western culture, from high school shootings, to teen pregnancies, to gun ownership rights and more. Such an eventuality will not help anyone.
