Victor Zen started reviewing books with a focus on gendered literature. The pilot book is Inga Muscio’s Cunt: A Declaration of Independence. Cunt flaunts hatred while masquerading as the New Testament of self-acceptance. The misandry and gynocentrism in this 1998 text is so potent that the pages burned Zen’s hands. Muscio proudly inducing a miscarriage and happily describing the flavor of cervix mucus did not make the subject matter as liberating as she would like to believe.
