Last month I penned a short article about Jake Pentland, a blogger and internet radio show personality who also happens to be the son of Roseanne Barr. I was writing in response to a blog post from Pentland on feminism and masculinity that struck me as well intentioned but myopic. Or, myopic but well intentioned, depending on where you want to put the emphasis.
I wasn’t exactly brutal, but I wasn’t exactly sprinkling sugar on doughnuts either. I liked Pentland’s intent, but wasn’t so impressed with where his intentions took him.
To this date I don’t know exactly how Mr. Pentland received the critique, but I am guessing that we will find out Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1 PM Pacific Time when I am a guest on his show on BlogTalk Radio.
I have no idea where this is going. I have had no direct communication with Pentland except a very brief email exchange, which makes this a lot more fun to anticipate. Will Jake and I find common ground on which to talk about the state of modern men? Is he angry and looking for some payback? Is it a combination of the two, or something else that even an evil, kitten blending misogynist like me cannot imagine?
Well, you will have to tune in to the show to find out.
I will also be joined by AVFM contributor Patrick Doran, also known as The Mad Shangi, which I am sure will add to the flavor of this particular event.
