Coast Guard Petty Officer acquitted of rape

Another politically motivated military rape case; this time in the U.S. Coast Guard, results in acquittal. Another innocent U.S. Serviceman put through the false rape meat grinder.

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Greg Cooper was court-martialed last week at the Coast Guard District headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The Coast Guard charged him with sexual assault, abusive sexual conduct, adultery, indecent conduct, making a false official statement, violating a lawful order and dereliction of duty of incidents in 2011 and 2012. [1]

Cooper was cleared of all charges except one fraternization count, which resulted in him being reduced in rank one stripe.

His attorney, retired Navy Commander John Wells of Slidell Louisiana, said his client was convicted of violating a policy barring fraternization, because of a “consensual relationship.” [1]

Mr. Wells, who is the executive director of Military-Veterans Advocacy Inc., said the rape allegations involved two women who asserted they were assaulted in 2011 and 2012.  He said the charges against Cooper stem from a, [1]

“Witch hunt atmosphere” within the armed services that pushes military commanders “into pursuing every sexual assault case no matter how questionable.”

Wells further lashed out in a press release,

“This case is a wanton example of political correctness gone amok; it has to stop if we are going to have an effective military. The military has been plagued by political correctness, a liberal social agenda and a lack of leadership for too long. There is a place for women in the military, and they can play an important role. But like everyone else, they must be held accountable for their actions. In this case, no action will be taken against the two women who brought the charges.” [1]

Mr. Wells stated,

“Early on, we discovered credibility issues with the complaining witnesses. We (the defense team) were disappointed that the Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) did not conduct even a basic investigation. The charges did not make sense. In one case, the outcry came after Petty Officer Cooper broke up with the complainant after living with her for six months. The other allegations were made after the newly-married woman found out that a one-time liaison had come to light.” [2]

Let’s see; a break-up with a former live-in girlfriend and a one-night stand with a married woman; and when she learns her affair has been aired, she alleges rape which results in a court-martial.

Let’s see, an incompetent, biased and politically motivated investigation by a military law enforcement agency?

Let’s see, a cowardly military commander ignoring evidence of innocence and sending a case to court-martial to placate the likes of a Gillibrand or McCaskill, and their cohorts in the false rape cottage industry. I wonder if he soiled himself at the Gillibrand-McCaskill altar of the non-existent military sexual assault epidemic, or got aroused at the thought of getting some brownie points for throwing one of his own under the bus.

Are we beginning to see a pattern here, or is it just me?

How many times have we seen this kind of travesty of military justice, yet the usual gaggle of rape hysterics and their delusional shrills to which the majority of military commanders now capitulate to, have put a military man through the meat grinder of the non-existent military sexual assault epidemic?

Petty Officer Cooper has been acquitted of all but one weak fraternization count for a consensual encounter; I guess they had to find him guilty of something, but for all intents and purposes, his military career is over. His military record has already been flagged and eventually, depending on his current enlistment contract, he soon will be driven from the ranks.

A military man’s career is in shambles and is probably over; he is probably in debt to such an extent that it will take many years to recover, if at all, perhaps a million dollars or more have been wasted, and the ones who created this disaster, the two false accusers, the incompetent and buffoonish Barney Fife Coast Guard investigators, his spineless and cowardly commander, and the corrupt prosecutors who put forth this case will all wake up tomorrow as if nothing has happened.

I wonder if Senators Gillibrand and McCaskill initially got that warm and fuzzy feeling upon hearing about another bullshit rape court-martial, but are now wallowing in their tears that another false rape case fell apart. They were probably looking for additional shrunken heads to decorate their offices.

 Does this bother anyone?
